Afghanaid and Christians Aware are holding a panel discussion on the present situation in Afghanistan on 3 November, at St John’sWaterloo (opposite Waterloo Station).
The speakers include David Loyn, BBC Development correspondent, Sue Turrell, the Director of Womankind Worldwide, Abdul Basir, the Manager of BAAG, the British and Irish Agencies Afghanistan group, and Major James Bunyard of the British Army’s Stabilisation Group.
Afghanaid, Afghan Action, Afghan Connection and Christians Aware will all be represented at the event.
Doors open at 6.30. The panel discussion begins at 7.00.
At 7. 00 pm David Page, Chairman of Afghanaid, will welcome guests and provide an introduction to the evening.
7. 15 – 8.45 pm Presentations followed by discussion:
Sue Turrell – Director of WOMANKIND worldwide
David Loyn – BBC correspondent and writer on Afghanistan
Abdul Basir – Manager – British and Irish Agencies Afghanistan Group (BAAG)
Major James Bunyard – British Army Military Stabilisation Support Group
Wine, Juice and Snacks will be provided.
We will also be hosting an NGO Corner where you will find information about British NGOs working in Afghanistan. There will be Afghan arts and crafts for sale.
